Eric Bischoff called the Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi rematch booking "clunky as hell" on 83 Weeks and said he would have let Lesnar retire after WrestleMania 42, where Femi defeated him.
Lesnar returned on the May 18 Raw with a surprise attack on Femi, setting up a rematch at Clash in Italy on May 31 in Turin. Lesnar removing his gear at WrestleMania 42 had been widely read as a retirement gesture before the comeback.
Bischoff said he had no feel for the storyline and questioned the internal logic. "It felt like the story ended for me. Brock's story's over. And then all of a sudden it's not. You've got to convince me there's a reason why I'm watching this."
He also floated a theory on why WWE pulled the trigger on the return: "I guess if this was to satisfy a television partner, you kind of created this anticlimactic ending."
Cody Rhodes and Jim Ross have both separately picked Femi to win the rematch at Clash in Italy.
