🚨🗞️ Billionaire California governor candidate #TomSteyer reportedly paid out $75,000 to popular social media platforms #TheShadeRoom and #FoosGoneWild as he attempts to appeal to younger voters, according to campaign filings. Records show Steyer’s campaign spent $25,000 on “online communications” with The Shade Room, with the disclosure appearing at the bottom of the sponsored posts. Foos Gone Wild was also reportedly paid $50,000 for an interview-style post featuring Steyer speaking with host Mr. E about topics including ICE accountability and stopping at taco trucks. The collaboration also included Foos Gone Wild’s well-known “sock check” segment, where Steyer showed off high white socks as part of the joke. After social media users questioned the lack of transparency around the sponsorship, Foos Gone Wild later added a disclosure to the post clarifying it was paid content. foonewsmedia / #foonewsmedia
