Guilt Trip, Slam Dunk Festival 2026 LIVE REVIEW: To finish a set with a cover of Machine Head’s ‘Davidian’ is a power move in every sort of scenario. But when it concerns what Guilt Trip just delivered, it is the cherry on top, the dot on the i and the cross on the t, the pièce de résistance of one of the most tight and tenacious bludgeonings to be experienced at this Slam Dunk, or any Slam Dunk before. The half an hour that precedes such an impeccable ending is nothing short of astonishing. The band are celebrating a decade of flying the flag for the metallic side of UKHC, and the years spent sharpening every aspect of their assault on the senses have come to a perfect head. ‘On Thin Ice’ continues to be a perfect amalgamation of brutality and bruising groove, whilst new offerings ‘Burn’ and ‘No Love Lost’ demonstrate how intense their brand of battery is in the here and now.
