Story time! When cxfayettevillear was announced I was doing video production for a college athletic department. Knowing the chances of a weekend off in January would be slim, I started looking for other jobs. I couldn’t imagine missing a world championship in my home state.
Still at the old job, I started taking the camera with me to local bike races. My friends are better at racing than me, so I needed something to do after my race and during theirs.
I eventually found that new job. (Worlds was far from the only reason I left the old one, but it got the ball rolling.) The flexibility of the new job allowed me the opportunity to start shooting more races. I kept showing up and people started noticing. I was suddenly a member of the cycling media.
