Dr. Hannah Croasdale (1905-1999) was the first tenured women at #DartmouthCollege. Despite earning a PhD, she started off as a technical assitant in 1937 and was not promoted until 1953 as a research associate, then associate professor in 1961. An expert in zoology and botany, she excelled in taxa classification. She would not earn tenure until 1968 8 years before she retired, and and 33 years after earning her PhD. She shared desks, and worked out of closets.
