It was until close to 1 p.m. Friday that Amtrak said its service -- as well as NJ Transit's -- was resuming in and out of NY Penn with delays, after an overnight Amtrak work train collision sparked a fire that shuttered most rail service through the hub into the better part of the afternoon.
