For years, Timberline Lodge has been teasing out a long dreamed of gondola up the side of Mount Hood. Now, that dream seems to be over. The ski area confirmed Wednesday that it has canceled the project, though a spokesperson declined to use language that direct. “Timberline has chosen to evolve its long-term approach to mountain access and guest experience in a way that better supports the resort’s long-term business viability and operational flexibility,” spokesperson John Burton said.
