Syd is back with her first album in over four years.⁠ ⁠ From her critically acclaimed work with The Internet to her songwriting collaborations across modern R&B, Syd has been a staple in the genre for over a decade. Today, the first single "Callin" from the record is out now and features Blu Jane. The album was also announced to feature Raphael Saadiq, Big Sean, Rodney Jerkins, James Fauntleroy, and Jordan Ward, among others.⁠ ⁠ "Beard is a coming-of-age album for me," she said in a press release. "The title was inspired by the peach fuzz on my upper lip that society has always taught me to hate. I fell in love with my peach fuzz and it made me rethink everything that was supposed to make me feel insecure.
