J. Cole had one of the most random Phoenix moments of the year.
Earlier this year, Cole said he was trying to make it to Los Angeles when his Honda Civic broke down in Phoenix — so while the car was getting fixed, he decided to keep moving around the city selling CDs.
Videos later showed fans pulling up to meet him, with Cole keeping it lowkey and interacting with people in person instead of doing a typical promo run.
Fans also shared clips that appeared to show him at Arizona Mills, chopping it up with people face-to-face and selling physical copies the old-school way.
The whole thing was part of his “Trunk Sale” style rollout, where he was meeting supporters directly and selling CDs out of the car instead of relying only on streaming and online drops.
From car trouble to a mall sighting in the same day, Phoenix somehow ended up becoming part of the rollout.
Did anyone actually see him while he was out here? 👀
