A plea deal has been reached in connection with the Marana school bus crash that left several people seriously hurt last year. Nicolas Luis Rodriguez pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated assault resulting in serious physical injury, one count of criminal damage, and one count of driving while impaired to the slightest degree. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 15. According to court documents, Rodriguez was heading east in April 2025 when he suddenly changed lanes and hit a school bus from the Kingman Unified School District. The impact reportedly knocked the bus out of its lane and onto the shoulder before it overcorrected, went into the median, and rolled onto its side. The crash involved a bus carrying at least 35 students and five adults. Several people were taken to the hospital, including students and an adult who were listed in critical condition at the time.
