Arizona troopers say a Phoenix traffic stop turned into a wild case involving repeat felony flight, speeds over 130 MPH, and a hidden button that could conceal the vehicle’s license plate. According to AZDPS Highway Patrol, troopers with Metro Night Watch spotted a vehicle on May 22 that was allegedly driven by a suspect who had already fled from them twice before during criminal-speed incidents. DPS says the vehicle had a device that allowed the driver to hide the license plate at the push of a hidden button. Troopers say the driver tried to run again, reaching speeds over 130 MPH before another stop attempt was made near the driver’s neighborhood. The suspect allegedly abandoned the vehicle and ran, leading to a foot pursuit that ended in a brief barricade inside the suspect’s home.
