The nba Finals will reveal who you are.
I was blessed to play in three straight Finals with the detroitpistons 1988, 1989, and 1990. And won back-to-back championships
Across those Finals:
• 22.6 points per game
• 7.9 assists per game
• 49.6% from the field
• 55.8% from three
In 1988, on a severely sprained ankle, I set a finals record scoring 25 points in one Finals quarter. That record still stands today.
In 1990, I shot 68% from three and became Finals MVP.
But the lesson was never just about scoring.
It was about trust.
It was about preparation.
It was about sacrifice.
It was about a group of men deciding that team would come before ego.
That is what championship basketball taught me.
The trophy is remembered.
The brotherhood is what lasts.
