There’s something to be said about being an athlete for 20+ years of your life. For years on end, you’re dedicating your life to a sport, and then one day it all comes to an end. I’m extremely fortunate that I got to go out on my own terms, but sometimes especially when I’m around major hockey events like the world championship, I miss who I was when I played. I miss competing. I miss the community. I miss the purpose of chasing something every season. Do I miss it enough to play again? Probably not. But I really miss the people. Hockey is an incredible sport that brings people closer than you could ever imagine. Although I may never be a pro athlete again, I’m grateful for the years I had 🥺🫶 #hockey #formerathlete #hockeyplayer
