As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we are honored to announce that 2026 Champion Harjit Singh Gill has been selected as this year’s Richard Van Horn Award recipient. Each year, the Van Horn family selects one Steinberg Institute Champion to receive the award in honor of Richard Van Horn’s legacy as a visionary mental health leader and advocate for people with serious mental illness. Harjit’s commitment to building innovative, coordinated, and dignified care for people with serious mental illness reflects the values Richard fought for throughout his life.
