LA Track Fest | The highlights
- Habtom Samuel (
@habtom_samuel_ ) made history in the men’s 5k, running 12:57.22 to become the first collegiate man ever to break 13:00 outdoors also setting an Eritrean national record that stood for 20 years.
-Brandon Miller (
@bmillertrackstar) took the marquee men’s 800 in 1:44.26, front running a loaded field that included Donavan Brazier, Hobbs Kessler, and Bryce Hoppel. Josh Kerr ran 1:44.60, a PB and his first time under 1:45, building toward Project 222.
-Roisin Willis (
@roisin.willis) set the outdoor world lead in the women’s 800 with a 1:58.08 PB.
- Parker Valby (
@parkervalby) returned to the track after 16 months away and ran a 5k PB of 14:49.41 taking the win.
-Michael Norman (
@michaelnorman22) went 44.94 in the 400, his first sub-45 since the 2024 Olympic semifinals. Ackeem Blake (
@ackeem_blake) hit 9.99 in the 100 heats. 17 year old Cooper Lutkenhaus (
@cooper.lutkenhaus) stepped up to the 1500 for the first time and ran 3:45.
