Good Afternoon, Friends, Colorado continues to lead the way in protecting both wildlife and people by expanding Wildlife Crossings across our State. Yesterday, govofco signed SB26-141, a bipartisan new law that creates a voluntary $5 vehicle registration contribution to help fund future Wildlife Crossings and associated conservation efforts. Often, our busiest roads and highways prevent wildlife from moving across the landscape, whether for seasonal migration, or in search of food and mates. Wildlife Crossings have proven extremely effective in reconnecting habitats that have otherwise been fragmented due to our roads and highways, reducing wildlife-vehicle crashes by more than 90% and saving countless lives.
