#TakeActionTuesday: This #PrideMonth, we recognize the progress of LGBTQ+ representation in sports, celebrating the trailblazers who pushed boundaries to make today’s visibility possible. At the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, history was made as a record number of openly LGBTQ+ athletes competed. Among them was Team USA gold medalist Amber Glenn, the first openly queer woman to represent the U.S. in Olympic singles figure skating. Milestones like this are built on generations of athletes who took the first steps toward a more inclusive sport landscape. As visibility grows, we must also acknowledge that safe and welcoming environments for LGBTQ+ athletes are still not guaranteed. Achieving true equity means ensuring that safety, belonging, and opportunity exist across every level of sports.
