The BMW iX3 50 xDrive is finally here — and I got to drive it in Germany before it reaches US shores. In this video, I test it as a daily driver on Munich's back roads, push it on the Autobahn to its 212 km/h top speed, and cover everything you need to know: range, charging, the new Heart of Joy platform, iDrive X, the controversial exterior design, and the hands-free highway assistant. This is the dual-motor xDrive setup with 463–469 HP, 476 lb-ft of torque, and a 0–60 in 4.9 seconds. It rides on the new 800V Neue Klasse architecture with a 100+ kWh battery, EPA-rated at 436 miles of range.
