Such a banger 💯🔥
“Hate Me” is one of those rare crossover records that actually made sense. Released in June 2019, the collaboration between Ellie Goulding and Juice WRLD brought two completely different worlds together, Goulding’s soaring, ethereal pop and Juice’s raw, emotionally unfiltered rap style, and somehow it worked perfectly.
The song is an anti-love anthem built around the tension of a toxic relationship, with Goulding singing from the perspective of a woman who knows her ex can’t let go, while Juice flips it and delivers the other side, rapping about the mental damage and mind games that come with a broken bond. His verse is classic Juice, vulnerable, chaotic, honest, fitting right into the song’s emotional core without overshadowing Goulding’s lead.
The production, handled by The Monsters & Strangerz, gave the track a hip-hop-leaning pulse that bridged both artists naturally. Looking back, “Hate Me” is a reminder of how versatile Juice WRLD truly was.
