🇿🇦🇿🇦 When a Malva pudding craving strikes, waiting for a full-sized dessert simply isn’t an option. This single-serve version delivers all the sticky, caramelized, custardy comfort of the classic—without the effort or leftovers.
✨ Single-Serve Malva Pudding
One note: if you’re only serving one person, I’d reduce the vanilla sauce by half. The quantities above make a generous amount, which looks great on camera but is probably enough for 2–3 servings.
Pudding serves 1-2
• 1 tbsp apricot jam
• 1 tbsp brown sugar
• 2 tbsp cream or milk
• 1 egg yolk
• 3 tbsp flour
• ¼ tsp baking powder
• Pinch of salt
Whisk until smooth and cook in an air fryer at 160°C for 10–12 minutes (or microwave for 1½–2 minutes).
Soaking Sauce:
• 1 tbsp apricot jam
• 2 tbsp cream
Mix together and pour over the hot pudding.
Vanilla Sauce:
• 2 egg yolks
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 125ml cream
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
