The hardest working item in my suitcase, season after season: silk trousers. I wear them on flights, to dinner, over swimwear, with a simple tank, with a blazer, with sandals, with trainers, in cities, by the sea, and everywhere in between. They pack down to almost nothing, somehow always feel polished, and have saved me on more than one occasion when I needed to look pulled together with very little effort.
