With the 19th overall pick in the 2013 draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected left winger, Kerby Rychel. Playing for the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL, Rychel had an impressive 74 points in 68 games in his sophomore season and improved even more in his draft year with 87 points in the same amount of games played. Following his final year of juniors, he had 33 points in 51 games for the Blue Jackets’ AHL team, the then Springfield Falcons. Due to an injury-riddled Blue Jackets team, Rychel got called up to the NHL and had 3 points in 5 games that season. The following season, Rychel ended up splitting the season between the NHL and minors and had 27 points in 37 games in the AHL and played 32 games with the Blue Jackets, only managing to get 9 points.
