Fast cars and big money were on Nick Saban's mind during his testimony before the Senate Commerce Committee on Wednesday.
The Committee held a hearing on the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act, led by Sens. Ted Cruz and Maria Cantwell, aimed at addressing growing instability in collegiate athletics.
Saban likened college sports' rapid escalation of NIL-related funding to a Ferrari and noted the exponential increase in the collective at Alabama.
Per Saban, when the collective at Alabama started, it had $2.7M. He noted it progressed to $7M, then $10M, then $17M, then $24M.
