He was one of those rare artists who could sing anything and make it his own. R&B, pop, Broadway, gospel…you name it. He could put you on the dance floor with his up-tempo songs, take you to church with his smooth golden gospel voice, sing to your soul with a ballad with pure emotion, and then stand toe-to-toe with some of the world’s most powerful female vocalists in duets that became legendary. Few singers possessed that kind of versatility, range, and grace. Thank you for the music, the memories, and the masterclass in what true vocal artistry sounds like.
