Judge John Roach has enforced a gag order, barred cameras from the courtroom, and prohibited other electronic devices — citing the need to protect the defendant's right to a fair trial given the "significant public and media interest" in the case. Anthony has maintained he acted in self-defense. Under Texas law, prosecutors must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was NOT self-defense — making that claim central to the entire trial.
