Over 50 schools in Philadelphia will switch to a virtual learning schedule because of the intense heat expected Friday, according to the School District of Philadelphia. Temperatures are set to reach the mid 90s on Friday as the area experiences a second heat wave this season. In a statement, the district said "there are still a number of schools with inadequate cooling systems." All in-person activities after school will be canceled Friday.
