I spent the weekend reading St. Pete. Not the map. The walls. I took the mural and graffiti tour with startrolley , guided by owner Daniel Wood. British, shaped by years in Los Angeles, one of the people who brought graffiti culture and teaching to this city. We talked design the way only someone fluent in both European craft and American street culture can. This is a city that turns walls into voices. Nearly 200 SHINE shineonstpete murals since 2015. We even met Justin, who writes love messages on the sidewalks in colored chalk. Art here is not decoration. It is how St. Pete tells the truth about itself. I photograph art because art is identity made visible. 25 years in graphic design and visual communication, and my real work became something deeper: helping people and brands uncover their true identity, from coaching through to design.
