My first time taking Japan’s bullet train 🇯🇵🚅 i traveled from Tokyo to Kyoto — about 280 miles (450 km) — in just over 2 hours. For perspective, a regular train would take close to 10 hours, and in most countries a trip this distance would likely involve a flight. The Shinkansen first launched in 1964 and completely changed rail travel. Today, trains run up to ~180 mph (285 km/h), arrive with incredible precision, and connect major cities across Japan with speed, comfort, and efficiency.
