As artificial intelligence becomes more prevalent in academia, tolerance for AI use is being contested among students and their instructors. Based on poll data gathered by The Maneater, most students at the University of Missouri use AI themselves, but oppose their instructors implementing it in the classroom. “I feel like the more AI is involved, the less the professor is involved, and if the professor is the one teaching, then I feel like I should be getting all my information from them,” said Mizzou senior Charlie Hill, who is studying communications. “And if they go into AI and they, you know, write this course up for me, how much effort are they putting behind it?
