#TSRPolitics: The Trump administration has ended a Biden-era policy that required Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to report and investigate the deaths of former detainees who die within 30 days of being released from custody.

The policy, implemented in 2021, was designed to prevent ICE from avoiding scrutiny by releasing seriously ill detainees shortly before their deaths. Under the updated policy, ICE will only review and report deaths that occur while individuals are still in its custody.

The change comes amid growing concerns about conditions inside ICE detention facilities.
