Meet Jesse, the founder of Hiatus Homes. He shares a tour of their newest model for small-scale, flexible living, the “twin home”—a 1-bedroom small home with an attached tiny home ADU (accessory dwelling unit) above the garage. Nine of these are thoughtfully nestled on a .5 acre lot in Bend, Oregon. It's an excellent example of smart density. Hiatus began building & developing tiny houses on wheels communities, but due to legal restrictions, they pivoted to building small homes on a foundation. Now, they're a local leader in middle housing— developing sustainable, right-sized cottage communities. This kind of housing helps make homeownership more attainable for more people in urban areas.
