Jim Cornette, who is known for tearing apart most modern wrestling, has praised the mask versus mask match between Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser at AAA. On his podcast, Cornette refused to bury it. "I'm not going to take the piss out of this thing. It was great," he said. He credited the hot crowd and a pace built around a fight rather than spectacle. "It was more of a struggle still than a stunt show. They did their stunts, but it didn't overwhelm the thing." Cornette said the match avoided both the WWE big match style and the indie habit of no-selling, where performers "just do every move like they're in a video game and don't sell any of it." He added the AAA bout felt "more like wrestling than what we see today." He praised Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser for making a lucha main event work despite neither being a luchador. "They worked enough of the style with the athleticism and the dives and the moonsault. It translated, it worked." Cornette summed the match up as "just lovely."...
