Steve Blackman has been running bail bonds in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for eighteen years. On the Stories of Briscoe and Bradshaw podcast he told two stories about catching bail jumpers.
Story one: a man nobody could find. Blackman's team had someone pose as a woman online for seven days until the man agreed to meet. When he showed up, Blackman sprinted at him and pinned him against a garage door.
"He goes, 'I knew better. I knew this was a setup, and I still showed up.'"
Story two: a 525-pound bail jumper nobody else would take. Blackman personally bailed him out from another county, the man skipped court, and Blackman eventually surrounded his apartment building and got him on the phone. "I said, 'I'm going to drive my truck straight through that front door. I'm coming in one minute.'" The man's offer: "If you get me a pizza, I'll go with you." They got him a pizza.
