TNA World Champion Mike Santana's contract is set to expire in July, per PWInsider, and WWE has shown interest in him before. Santana is a two-time TNA World Champion in his second reign. He started on the New York and New Jersey indie scene in 2007 before signing with Impact Wrestling in 2017. Alongside Ortiz as LAX, he holds the record for most combined days as Impact/TNA tag champions at 662 days. He moved to AEW in 2019 as part of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle, later aligned with Eddie Kingston after Jericho and Hager turned on the group, and returned to TNA in 2024. Leon Slater is in a similar position, with Meltzer reporting the belief inside the business is that Slater is also leaving for WWE or AEW when his deal is up. Matt Hardy compared TNA's position in the market to late 90s ECW, noting WWE and AEW can typically outbid TNA for established names heading into free agency.
