This summer,
@fsuanthropology students are conducting archaeological research to examine a small preserve in Tallahassee for evidence of what is suspected to be an Apalachee civilization and possibly even a Spanish mission, a type of frontier settlement built between the 16th and 19th centuries.
This research is part of Associate Professor Jayur Mehta's field school, and his students will review the results in the lab before presenting their findings at the SouthWood Community Center later this month.
