For #EagleScout Cooper S., “Get outside” is more than an imperative – it’s a way of life, a mentality, a non-negotiable.   A member of Troop 26 in Gainesville, Georgia, Cooper has the hardware to prove it. Before the National Medal for Outdoor Achievement was officially discontinued, Cooper was amongst the less than 500 #Scouts to ever earn it.   While working toward this milestone, Cooper:   • Spent 262 nights camping • Hiked a whopping 251 miles • Completed over 1,450 hours of on-the-water aquatics • Gained his Lifeguard, Wilderness First Aid and Leave No Trace Certifications • Planned and led multiple outdoor adventures for his troop (including a five-day, four-night hike of the entire, 78-mile Georgia Appalachia Trail) • Worked four summers as a staff member at campraineymountain   This is only a portion of what Cooper has achieved and experienced through #Scouting – and he’s not stopping now. “Cooper has been able to take the lessons learned in Scouting and apply them in nume...
