"God's Smuggler". 1996 by Jack White III. "This piece came about when I took it upon myself to clean out and organize my father's workshop. The piece contains only supposed "useful" items I found during the project. I took care to highlight many of the passions in his lifetime; he had been a part time locksmith, a radio and t.v. repairman, he had an interest in religion and he was a part time inventor, one of which was an idea called the "Heat Reaper" which would recycle warm air trapped in drop ceilings which I highlighted with a vent chimney painted in chartreuse (a color I was obsessed with in the mid 90's while working on constructed sculpture). I put a radio antenna to God for him in there. I couldn't afford epoxy resin back then so just used whatever gloss varnishes I could find in the garage and basement. The new art show offered me the chance to clean up and refubish some of these pieces, this one with a brand new epoxy resin gloss finish (I can finally afford it haha) encasing...
