It seems In-N-Out’s long-awaited Hillsboro restaurant — located just 20 minutes from downtown Portland — could open any day now. The California-based burger chain with a cultish following broke ground at Tanasbourne Town Center last fall, clearing what was once the parking lot of a Barnes & Noble bookstore and in its place erecting a crisp white building and accompanying drive-thru. Once open, the restaurant will be the first Portland-area In-N-Out location actually in Oregon, unleashing a wave of Double Doubles and animal-style fries.
