You’re so far behind that opening your books feels pointless. So you don’t. And every day you avoid it, the pile grows and the dread gets heavier.
The reason you can’t start isn’t laziness. When a task feels impossibly big, your brain protects you by avoiding it entirely. The catching up never happens because the mountain looks unclimbable. The fix isn’t motivation. It’s making the first step so small your brain stops panicking.
⤵️ Here’s the way back:
1️⃣ STOP TRYING TO CATCH UP ALL AT ONCE:
You will not fix weeks of backlog in one night. Trying to is exactly why you freeze. Drop the goal of “catch up.” Replace it with “start.”
2️⃣ FIND YOUR HIGHEST LEVERAGE 20%:
Open past papers or your syllabus. What actually gets tested most? Study that first. You don’t need everything, you need the things that carry the most marks.
3️⃣ DO ONE TINY THING TODAY:
Not a chapter. One page. One question. The only goal today is to break the freeze and prove to your brain that starting is survivable....
