An 18-year-old is facing multiple charges after DPS says a stolen car pursuit through east Phoenix ended with a crash on Loop 202. 🚨 According to investigators, a trooper attempted to stop the vehicle near 48th Street and Broadway Road after the driver allegedly ran a red light. Instead of pulling over, police say the driver sped away, leading troopers onto SR-143 and then Loop 202. The chase came to an end when the vehicle crashed near the interchange. Officials say both the driver and a passenger were taken into custody, and a firearm was also recovered during the investigation. The driver was later booked on several charges, including vehicle theft, fleeing from law enforcement, weapons-related offenses, and DUI.
