What started as a quick smash-and-grab turned into a months-long investigation spanning multiple cities. According to the Vacaville Police Department, two suspects walked into a sunglasses store and cleared out display cases in seconds, stuffing designer frames into bags before taking off. The first theft happened in January, when investigators say the pair stole more than 150 pairs of sunglasses valued at nearly $60,000. They got away. Then, just weeks later, police say they came back to the exact same store. Same strategy. Same target. This time, investigators say they took: • More than 200 additional pairs of sunglasses • An estimated $65,000 worth of merchandise • Less than 90 seconds to do it Authorities later located the suspects’ vehicle using city camera systems, but the driver allegedly fled onto the freeway, forcing officers to end the pursuit for public safety.
