If you havenโ€™t visited the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica in Ottawa, I recommend that you do. Itโ€™s such a gem in our beautiful capital city! โœจ I took a guided tour and learned many interesting things about Ottawaโ€™s main church. Fun facts: ๐Ÿ“Œ It was built in 1841, and it is the first Catholic church built in Ottawa. ๐Ÿ“Œ It was made of stone and wood. The big columns that look like marble are actually wood. ๐Ÿ“Œ It has two historic organs that together have over 4,000 pipes of different sizes, distributed throughout the building so their sound can be heard everywhere. ๐Ÿ“Œ The main altar was made by several French-Canadian craftsmen and sculptors, many of whom also worked on the ornamentation of the Parliament Buildings. Good to know: ๐Ÿ‘‰ Guided tours are $10 and are offered every day. ๐Ÿ‘‰ The cathedral is open daily and can be visited Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 6 pm, and weekends from 9am to 7pm. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Admission is free. A beautiful piece of history right in the heart of Ottawa! โœจ #ott...
