January brings me so many memories because eight years ago we settled in Ottawa. January 2018 was a month of big discoveries and major cultural shocks, starting with learning about Ottawa’s capricious weather and everything winter had to offer. Skating on the canal, tobogganing, BeaverTails and hot chocolate, snow angels, two different types of snow, so-called freezing rain, black ice, windchill, numb fingers and toes, red cheeks, and a cold nose… It seemed like a big deal back then, and now it’s totally commonplace.
