This is what Resorts World could have been 👀🌍 Resorts World turned out much different than originally conceptualized. If some of these early concepts had been built, Resorts World may have been the most stunning property in Las Vegas with the most “wow” factor. Steve Wynn even hinted at it. Some of architect Paul Steelman’s early concepts included a replica of the Great Wall of China, a live panda habitat, traditional pagodas, and a 7-acre indoor water park. When ground broke in 2015, Resorts World was sold as “The Forbidden City,” an immersive experience of Chinese culture meant to target Asian high-rollers. That never happened. In 2016–2017, due to geopolitical shifts, Genting decided to soften the theming to avoid over-segregating the resort’s demographic appeal.
