Some states wasted no time at all dismantling Black representation after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. This is strategic. There’s a reason why right-wing extremists are afraid of the Black voting power. When we organize, when we come together, we are democracy’s most reliable engine for progress. There are 19 congressional seats at risk of being erased, and the detrimental implications will be exponential – in our schools, in our healthcare, in our housing infrastructures. Our Black Voter Registration Program is our commitment to fighting back against the erosion of our political power and voices. Throughout Georgia, North Carolina, Mississippi, Virginia, Michigan, and Louisiana, there are roughly half a million unregistered Black voters.
