The Flower Moon — the first of two full moons this May — rises in the sky tonight. The name “flower moon” comes from the Algonquin and speaks to the transition to spring and the wealth of gifts that May brings. Channeling similar abundance, the Anglo Saxon name for this time was Rimilcemona, meaning “Three-Milkings Month” since cows were milked three times a day during the spring. By any name, the Flower Moon serves as a signifier of future growth: a moment for planning and preparation, both literally and emotionally. Use this moon to lay the groundwork for future bounty.
