Thousands gathered Downtown on Sunday for the 53rd annual Pittsburgh Pride parade, a celebration organizers said was particularly meaningful this year as LGBTQ+ communities face growing political and social challenges. The parade scene included motorcycle groups riding through Downtown flying Pride and transgender flags, families with children, rainbow banners hanging from storefronts, elaborate costumes, painted faces and handmade signs. Marchers represented businesses, advocacy organizations, religious groups, labor unions and community organizations from across the region.
