I was grateful to be able to speak today at the festival for life, Colorado HIV/AIDS walk. As a GenZ person, I’ve only learned about the history of how people with HIV have been stigmatized, especially during the 80s. When I was in New York last year, I went to the AIDS memorial and saw hundreds of names that I knew were real people. Real people with families, lovers, and friends… It really made me think. These people were just like me. But I’m fortunate enough that we have PrEP and other ways to help live with HIV/AIDS, and we are so close to a cure.
