People always see the sweet moments, the hand holding, the laughs, the bond. What they don’t always see is the weight that can come with being the sibling of a child with autism. This is her reality, loving her brother deeply while learning patience, navigating hard feelings, and growing up a little faster than most. So many siblings like her are what people call “glass children,” the ones who don’t always get seen because they’re strong, because they manage, because they don’t ask for much. And that matters to me, because while she shows up for her brother every single day, I’m making sure she is seen too, that she has her own space, her own moments, her own life outside of being the big sister. This is what it looks like in our world, beautiful, complicated, and so full of love. If you know, you know… and if you don’t, this is your reminder that there’s always more beneath the surface. 💙 #autismacceptancemonth #glasschild #autismacceptanceeveryday
