Using social media as a casting tool isn’t a new concept. Even a decade ago - before TikTok took over - l was casting international ad campaigns almost exclusively through Facebook groups! But as a Gen Z who’s chronically online anyways, it feels like a gift to use my knowledge of short-form video content, trending audios, and dance choreography to connect hopeful performers and real people with amazing on-screen opportunities (and major prizes) every day! I’ve even picked up clients through appearing on their FYP! It is not lost on me how unique, fun, and fulfilling my job is.
